The GSK Research & Development Centre was conceived as a 50,000 m² research campus that redefined the workplace environment for scientific innovation. Designed around GSK's Smart Working principles, the concept integrated flexible laboratories, collaborative workspaces, landscaped public areas, and sustainable design strategies to foster interaction, wellbeing, and research excellence. The proposal achieved first place in an international design competition.

My Role

As Senior Design Architect, I worked at the development of the competition concept, producing design options, volumetric studies, functional layouts, and presentation material. I coordinated a team of junior architects throughout the competition phase and, following the winning submission, contributed to the refinement of the selected design, integrating sustainable strategies and GSK's Smart Working principles into the evolving proposal.
